So today the athletics department traveled up to La Purisma to play golf in the Westmont Athletics Scholarship Challenge. I am NOT a golfer. I have never played golf. In fact, yesterday Kirsten and I went to the driving range to practice and I must have whiffed about 30 drives. Doh!

So this morning I stood at the ninth tee and took pictures of all of the participants. In between golfers, Dr. Glen Adams gave me some GREAT golf lessons. I couldn't believe the improvement! It was so much fun to be able to master part of the swing and move onto the "next step." Ok, master is not the best word, but I was definitely more comfortable swinging a golf club by the end of the day. Plus, I had a lot of fun! Have I found a new addiction?!?! :-)

That's awesome Rebecca! Golf is a great sport... something that you can play well into the retirement age!
Mastering it is something very few can do... however... it's fun no matter what!
We'll have to go out and play a round sometime this summer.
The plaid hat and pants are mandatory too!
Oh that's funny rebecca. I can imagine you could be good at any sport once you practice a bit.

Ironically, I commented to my dad last night that I never realized how often I would be expected to golf as a basketball coach (and then we went out to the backyard to work on my swing--which is still awful). I decided it would be easier to golf than to constantly find reasons to NOT golf! I just don't like golfing for two reasons:
1) I took golf with Ewan Russell in college and she ruined the sport for me
2) I don't like doing things I'm not the best at (and I'm definitely NOT the best at golf)

Jamie-
you have not seen me swim ;-)
Sarah-
I could see how that class would have ruined it for you. And, I may not enjoy it so much when I stop improving every time I hit the ball. I think I'm in the honeymoon period :)
